History
From the living room to the Seagull to the Strandräuber (beachcombers) ...
Baltic Sea accommodations play an important role in the Meyers' lives:
In 1969, Ernst and Anne-Lene Meyer converted a former fisherman's cottage into a small guesthouse – in the early years, guests even lived in the living room.
By 2016, the "Seagull" had grown into a guesthouse with over 30 beds. Since 2017, their youngest son, Thorsten, and his wife, Kim-Sarah, have been looking after their guests' well-being – from breakfast to all-round care during the day to overnight stays on the Baltic Sea. They took the plunge and opened the "Beachcomber" – a bed-and-breakfast hotel with completely renovated and modernized rooms.
Thorsten Meyer was practically born into the hotel industry. As a trained chef and wholesale and foreign trade clerk, he caters to our guests' culinary needs at breakfast. He also manages business matters.
His wife, Kim-Sarah Meyer-Hinrichsen, is a trained geriatric nurse and a lucky charm trained by the Schleswig-Holstein Business Academy. With love and enthusiasm, she ensures our guests have more than just a few happy experiences. Kim-Sarah is also the house's fairy godmother and the decorator and design manager. Emma and Paul (12 and 15 years old) also enthusiastically look after the youngest guests.
